This year marks the 21st annual St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway in Nashville, and for over a decade, Signature Homes has been honored to be a part of this meaningful initiative. This annual fundraiser not only allows Signature Homes and the community to contribute to St. Jude’s life-saving mission but also serves as a heartfelt way to help advance the fight against childhood cancer. Meet Maelin-Kate and Mia!
Maelin-Kate
When Maelin-Kate’s parents, Paul and Megan, brought her home from China after adopting her in 2017, they knew she had medical needs. One leg was shorter than the other — hip dysplasia, it turned out. Maelin-Kate was scheduled for orthopedic surgery within weeks of her adoption. That’s how her Fanconi anemia came to light. At first, though, it was something of a mystery. Her labs were clearly abnormal, but not indicative of a specific disease; there was no knowable family history to comb through. But, one of Maelin-Kate’s doctors at a St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital affiliate clinic just happened to have worked at an institution specializing in Fanconi anemia. She recognized the very rare blood disease right away. People with Fanconi anemia do not produce healthy bone marrow – so they don’t produce healthy blood. Untreated, this genetic disease can cause leukemia. Maelin-Kate’s was caught early. “She has glitter in her veins. She’s just super joyful. Every day, she finds a reason why it’s the best day ever. She’ll say, ‘I see a butterfly – it’s the best day ever.’ Or, ‘We ate spaghetti for dinner – it’s the best day ever.’ She makes everybody smile every day because she loves everything about life.”, says Maelin-Kate’s mother, Megan.
Mia
Mia’s dream is to be a princess when she grows up, and like her favorite princess, Snow White, she is cheerful and friendly, always showing affection to those around her. Mia steals the heart of everyone who meets her. Mia also has an independent streak and a strength of will that has helped her face up to some very difficult challenges. One day, after running and playing in the park, Mia had some unusual cramps in her leg. The cause was neurological; Mia had a cancerous brain tumor called anaplastic ependymoma. “My world came crashing down,” says her dad, Jorge. “The first thing my wife said to me was, ‘We’re going to fight.’ We will fight to the very end.” After undergoing surgery in her home country of Nicaragua, Mia was referred to St. Jude where she received proton therapy as part of her treatment. Mia loves to do puzzles and play with Lego and dolls, her favorite being Snow White. In spite of everything, her mom says that Mia has never stopped smiling.

St. Jude partners with around 40 builders nationally each year to design and construct stunning homes, one being Signature Homes, all over the United States that will then be available to win through a raffle. Tickets are $100 and each and every cent of your ticket goes toward the St. Jude kids and the mission of St. Jude: Finding cures. Saving children.®

The 2025 St. Jude Dream Home
Signature Homes’ 2025 Dream Home is underway in Nashville, TN. You can find this year’s home in our Saddlewalk at June Lake community located in Thompson’s Station, TN. The St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway home, and other prizes, will be given away live on News 2 on June 29, 2025!
The home has an estimated value of $875,000 and features:
