Meet the founders of Signature Homes:

DDwight Sandlinwight Sandlin

Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder

Mr. Sandlin is the chief executive officer of NSH Corp. d.b.a. Signature Homes sharing the overall management of the company with Mr. Belcher. He has significant experience in the real estate and construction industry. Prior to co-founding Signature Homes, Mr. Sandlin was the division manager for Regency Homes, a division of D. R. Horton Homes. Mr. Sandlin founded Regency Homes in 1987 and later sold the company to D. R. Horton in 1995.

Mr. Sandlin also worked in real estate lending for three separate banks from 1974 to 1987. During his banking tenure, he was primarily focused on real estate lending. When he left banking, he was a senior vice president at BancBoston Mortgage as the head of construction lending. BancBoston had construction lending operations in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Texas, North Carolina and Massachusetts. He spent his banking career appraising, underwriting and lending through multiple market cycles. Mr. Sandlin calls Birmingham his home and has a degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He has served on numerous boards during his career including the Birmingham Homebuilder’s Association as a past president and currently with the Birmingham Metropolitan Development Board and the Federal Reserve Advisory Board.

What is your favorite book or movie? My favorite movie is hands down Forest Gump and my favorite book is “Good To Great” by Jim Collins.

Your favorite musician? I love Patsy Cline.

Which desserts do you like the best? Unfortunately, all that is sweet!
